The A/W 04-05 collection from Raf named 'Waves', explored the idea of conscious confinement and wilful enclosure, taking reference from Wave cultures including cultures of rave waves and ocean waves. The collection embodied the idea of having one's eyes closed, alone with music, living only inside the music, happily disappearing into the vortex of sounds and emotions.
This iconic piece from the almost unseen âWavesâ collection is constructed out of wool and elastane the materiel is intentionally pilled to create a worn look. The middle of the piece features iconic patches from graphics used across the rest of the collection such as âEXILES EVERYWHERE WE GOâ, âTEST WAVESâ, and the paisley Ying/Yang all sewn on individually. Each patch is intentionally distressed and has a âdirtâ effect ubiquitously applied throughout each graphic.
